Reusable Stainless Steel Pour-Over Coffee Filter

Make fresh pour-over coffee right into your favorite mug, with no paper filters to buy. This reusable cone filter is made from durable 304 stainless steel with an ultra-fine mesh that keeps the grounds out and lets the coffee's natural oils and flavor through.

The built-in wide base sits securely on most mugs, cups, and glasses, and fits both regular-mouth and wide-mouth Mason jars too. It's rust-resistant, dishwasher safe, and ships in plastic-free packaging.

How to Brew:

  1. Heat the water. Bring water to a boil, then let it sit for a minute or two. The ideal brewing temperature is 195°F to 205°F (90°C to 96°C).
  2. Grind your beans. Grind fresh coffee beans. A finer grind makes a stronger cup, and a coarser grind makes a milder one. For best results, use about 1 part coffee to 15–17 parts water.
  3. Prep the filter. Set the filter on your mug, cup, or jar. If you like, rinse it with hot water first to preheat it.
  4. Add the grounds. For 16 oz (473 ml) of coffee, use about 1 oz (28 g), or roughly 5 tablespoons, of ground coffee. Give the filter a gentle shake to level the grounds.
  5. Let it bloom. Pour just enough water to wet the grounds and wait about 30 seconds. Fresh coffee will puff up and release trapped gas.
  6. Pour slowly. Pour the rest of the water in a slow, steady circle, starting from the center and working outward. An even pour helps you get a balanced cup that isn't sour or bitter.
  7. Enjoy. When the coffee finishes dripping, lift off the filter, empty the grounds, and rinse the filter right away.

Pro Tip: Bean type, grind size, coffee-to-water ratio, and pour speed all change the flavor. Experiment to find your perfect cup.

Keeping Your Filter Clean: Over time, natural coffee oils can build up in the fine mesh. If your coffee starts draining slowly, try one of these:

  • Dishwasher: Run the filter through a regular cycle.
  • Vinegar soak: Soak it for about 30 minutes in warm water mixed with white vinegar, then scrub gently with a soft brush. For tough buildup, scrub with a baking soda paste first.
  • Boil: Simmer the filter in a pot of water to loosen the oils so they float to the surface. Let it cool before handling.
